I am a high school senior at Mattole Valley Charter School. I have always dreamed of being a writer and that’s the field of study I plan to go into. I want to be able to influence others through fictional storytelling. I want to help eliminate some of the evil that plagues our world (i.e. bullying, drugs, abuse, and war). I can't make this dream happen without help getting to college.
I have been accepted into an awesome college. This college has the perfect community, people smile when you walk by (even if you don’t know them), everyone shares the same faith, and the students really know how to include everyone and have a great time. I want to be a part of that. The classes are small; about 10-20 students per professor. I will get the one on one time that I need to really make my writing good enough to inspire my readers. However, I face a huge dilemma. If I am unable to get more scholarships then I may run the risk of losing my spot at my dream college. I won’t get to walk down the pathway leading to my dorm room or make friends that will stand by my side when my world caves in. I won’t get to know the little town this college resides in or the people living there. If I miss all this, I miss an opportunity to change the world for the better.
