I'm 28 years old, a native of Jacksonville, FL, a brand-new mother, and aspiring wordsmith. I attended the Creative Writing program at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, where I won such awards as the Emerging Artist Award, the PTSA "Reflections" Poetry Contest, the National Penwomen's Association Literature Award, and the National Arts Recognition Short Story Merit Award. I've worked as a vet tech, pet-sitter, data entry clerk, teacher's aide, and private investigator, and am a survivor of bipolar disorder. Recently I returned to school to pursue a Bachelor's in English Education in order to become a writing teacher for children. My poetry has been featured in "Digital Americana" and "4 and 20 Poetry" under the name of Megan Hall, and I'll be featured in upcoming issues of "Midnight Circus," "The Rathalla Review," and "Obsessed With Pipework."
I just started a new online literary journal and am currently seeking submissions in the genres of poetry, short fiction, photography, and art.
It's called Manic Fervor, at http://manicfervor.weebly.com. On August 28, 2013, I became the mother of a chunky baby boy named Jesse. I live with my fiancé, son, and two tuxedo cats named JubJub and Trigger in a townhouse that always seems too small but also just right.
