A Daughter’s Cry

Beyond the point of return.
So many things spoken, yet so much unheard.
Too prideful to feel guilt, too stubborn to accept blame.
Wishing to go back, realizing nothing will ever be the same.
Broken I am, perfect I am not.
Knowing what needs to happen, practicing the forgiveness God taught.
Sorry for my mistakes, for all the bad that has come to be.
Asking for a miracle, hoping you still have love for me.
A child of the past, a woman of the here and now.
I just want your affection, I just want you to be proud.
Pull me from the darkness, from out of this emotional storm.
Wrap me in your loving arms, keep my heart so warm.
Help me break the silence, to make everything alright.
I no longer have the strength to argue, no longer the will to fight.
