AffectionAte

She looked at me and she seemed happy
Happy enough to smile at me
Me, I smiled back
Back when I saw her regularly

Disappearance overnight seemed harsh
Harsh nights are unfair
Unfair to us all but especially the flowers
Flowers that lost their petals in the wind

You liked the flowers in the garden
Gardens reminded you of your home
Home was wherever you were
Were we that simple?

Even silence was a gift
Gift me something please
Please let this last forever
Forever is not long enough

Her affections faded
Faded and withered
Withered and ate away
Away at my heart
