This coming from the nation
Who puts women's rights up to a vote
Who claims equality but look around and take note
The oppressed can't help but cry
When we are being beaten until we comply
You fit the image of society
So you can live your life of mediocrity
When you stand tall
Make sure you have someone to catch you when you fall
The way the world is now
You best assume you'll get knocked down
But don't let that stop you from fighting
I pray to God we keep trying
Because this is the world my kids will live in
And I'm not going to let them hate their own skin
Because no matter who you are
We are not that far
The struggles we face
Eventually will help us win this race
