Last Words Of Promethus


There I'am day in and day out
chained to this rock
At dawn I awake from a bad dream
At dusk I'm old and crippled
I'm in the grave
It's a never ending tale
this is my curse
Why?, Because I'm neither God nor mortal
but a superhuman
Who felt for the mortals- my brothers
I gave him fire
heat to keep warm, to cook his food
Zeus the Supreme God said this was wrong
I was not suppose to give a power of the Gods
to the mere mortals
But they, the mortals are my brothers
I feel compassion for them
Is that my crime?, feeling compassion for humanity
If it is a crime, then I understand
Why do these dam birds feast on my inners?

This rock, these restrictive chains
If I can only--------
