Mirror Image

And when she looked in the mirror,
she saw a figure cloaked in misery.
There was so much sadness in the figures eyes.
The figure was drowning in the sadness.
She cried for the figure.
For the figure only wanted happiness.
A happiness that was fleeting,
That she had thought was finally hers.
Was she mean't to be alone forever?
What was wrong with her?
Why wasn't she good enough?
These were the thoughts that whirled in her head.
The shadows she saw in the figures eyes,
Were the doubts she had in herself.
The miserable figure in the mirror-
Was how she saw herself.
