She Always Mattered

She realized,
It had been some time
Since she dropped her crown.
It hit the ground
And shattered,
But Still She Mattered.
It had been a while
Since she felt love, or hope, or happiness.
Her mind felt scattered,
But Still She Mattered.

She realized, this too shall pass.
The pain doesn’t last,
And fear dissipates.
For herself, she began to advocate.
The old her was tattered.
The new her mattered.
And she realized, her days were numbered.
Her hope she gathered.
She gave love freely; herself, she flattered.

And suddenly, she realized
All this time,
If to no one else,
Then to herself
She Always Mattered.
