A cold north wind blows turbulently,
Tossing tumbling snowflakes to and fro,
In gusty lifts, the shivering wind
Sets swirling silver flakes of snow.
Around my house it whistles and whines,
Driving into drifts the sweeping snow;
A neighbor's snowman loses his hat,
Lost to blustery winds that blow...
The stubborn storm moves slowly southward,
With all its hazards and lack of care--
But how much more lovely spring will seem
When she flowers forth, fragrant and fair.
