The Canary

Pain is temporary
Like a yellow canary

Trapped in a cage

Singing throughout the night
Gives up and has no more fight

Finally the canary is set free
Free of bondage
That canary was once me

Singing to deaf ears
Thoughts of escaping with fears

Fear to be captured, then abandoned again
