The Dawn Chorus During COVID-19 Pandemic
Easter's dawn arrived at Lock-down when
Silence thickly strewed melody and streets.
Suddenly a voice was heard from trees above:
A song of victory dashing through the air.
Your companions though distant from each other
With diverse tones always form an appealing choir --
Children soundless wished could have done together
With musical instruments to celebrate the Easter.
Since I was young till now, you all sing for me:
From my home to school or anywhere I go.
Next time you pass by await me to wear you
A wreath, then gently lead you by ride
To the ill, elderly, bereaved, suffering and lonely,
The overworked battling to subdue the pandemic;
Though songs from a beak are apparently belittled
Yours shall subliminally do some cheer and relief!
