The Fault in my Stars

Never thought that so soon,
You'd become a long-lost memory.
Just like the phases of the moon,
This proved to be temporary.

I was a fool, had to be clever,
But I haven't been that ever.
Even when I knew it was a "never",
Fault's mine to have believed in a forever.

Have had many a wars,
Between the heart and brain.
But this time, maybe it was the fault in my stars,
That made my eyes spill the rain.
