The Setting Moon

You were lovely, but vanished
Like the setting moon
In its pre-dawn fullness
But you’re gone too soon
For the sun still sleeps
You took the light with you
I reach out blindly in search of you

For as I prefer the light of the moon
I would bathe in the aura
Surrounding you
Some settle like dust
But I yearn for new
And I’ll spend my life
In the dark with you
