These Doldrums
Day in, day out
Work, eat, sleep, repeat
These doldrums tick like a living watch
It seems as sure as our heartbeat
When a Covid strikes
It brings with it something new
As if the world began rotating backwards
Putting the life we know in a bigger view
When this Covid struck
It randomized our known routine
To live a life deep underwater
This new world is a change of scene
As after every Covid, life returns
To the usual day in and day out
But after this Covid, may we all take note
These doldrums aren't all that life is about
