1982

Twisted spine nestled
inside the darkness, spilling out
she's not ready
is sung against the blades
swirling air rises to fall
between two worlds, merging
the hours blur and scream
into the cold void, waiting
call her by a name then
or split the belly open
deliver the inside out
wake her from the dream
naked and alone, breathing
with hands clenching the years
she finally enters the room
