(2) Eternal Companion

Standing in place I watch my life pass me by
There is no one to hold me and make things alright
My hands are empty and cold dangling at my side
My eyes sting as I smile to hold back the tears
I do not speak in fear of my sadness spilling over
My insides ache with the idea of my nearing end
Solitude is my only reliable eternal companion
