Thought this year was going to be different.
I thought wrong.
Can't even go to a store without a mask.
It's really hard to finish a task.
Can't go to school, afraid to get sick.
Can hug but has to be quick.
black lives matter.
Can't even speak with all the chatter.
Don't all lives matter?
Agree to disagree.
I guess I'll just let it be.
I know you don't want to hear this right now.
But can't you see this is reality.
Stop pretending that this is pretend.
It's real.
So in this time of crisis I kneel.
We are too busy talking and fighting.
People are dying.
You don't understand.
So let me help you.
First, stop feeling so blue.
Turn off the news.
Put down the booze.
Go outside, don't forget your shoes.
Look around, cherish what's around you,
Tell your mom you love her
Because she could be gone in a blur.
Don't be scared.
We just have to be prepared.
