Blinking cursor, calling me to type
Instead I’m only reminded of how numb the year has made me
Tick-tock goes the clock while I Tik Tok
In hopes that the worry from this pandemic can escape me

“No Justice, No Peace” floods the streets as the blood sheds
But blue lives and Trump’s lies still govern this American police state
Just press play, stay home, be quiet while they try to hide it
But we want to fight it so America can start over with a clean slate

The cursor blinks a little less now, as I sit and ponder
All the lies and the crimes of those who come before us
Wondering if we will ever see true change
So we keep screaming until they can no longer ignore us
