24 Week Angel

Deep within a meadow
Before the ice had thawed
A Violet rose had blossomed
To begin an early dawn
She sprung from beneath the snow pack
In search of spring times warmth
But instead of finding sunshine
She met a winter's storm
It did not even phase her
When she knew what she had done
So instead of giving up
She reached for the golden sun
She stretched above the bushes
Then above the boulders too
Then my little Violet
Surpassed the treetops view
And when she reached her highest
She bloomed from bud to rose
This is based on a true story
Of how my daughter fought
Of a one percent statistic
Who beat all of the odds
