26/11/08 – The Day India Wept

A boat-full of 'men'... can I call them that?
A heartless group in human dress...
Anchored on tranquil Bombay shores,
Unleashing terror ... the world abhors!

In the busy trains & in the streets,
In the pubs where loud music beats,
They descended with a vicious hate,
With blazing guns & hand-grenades!

Sons wailed at dead fathers' side,
Little children fell as mothers cried,
Black tarred streets ... turned gory red,
With spilt blood of the innocents dead!

Bombay sobbed ... & India wept,
As cold winds of mourning swept,
Hearts were torn... long brothers lost,
Can mankind ever bear this cost?

What will these mindless acts beget?
Some more hatred ... where love is less?
The world will turn a murkier grey,
Can terror ever have a reason fair??
