It wasn't until I tried to meditate that I
realized how loud my mind really was.
Incessant thoughts rattled around the
inside of my brain,
Echoing like an aluminum can being
kicked down an empty hallway.
The only sounds I could hear were the
hum of the A/C unit and my bated breath,
And yet I could feel the words shouting
from the depths of my psyche,
Pleading for a chance at life,
begging to be written down.
