5’1

Months go by
Forgetting is all I want
But you, somehow
Pull me back
Someone speaks of you,
Looks at you,
And the jungle of wires throughout me pulsate
Unaware of any chance escaping
I am left with tears and a thorn-filled crown upon me
The brown intricate eyes of which I glanced on once
Now follow me
A sense unknown to me since your wrath
Never replicated once more in another
Has left me a green-eyed monster

Staring upon the luminous balls of gas
Lifetimes away, I wish for you again
Or for the eyes, I valued with all my heart
To have never been valued by me at all

Left alone griping the thorn-filled crown which I bear
I am left adrift
No soul in sight
Living with the thought of what could have been mine
