A BOOK

There is a book:
A blood-soaked book;
Its heroes‘re monsters
Who kill thousands,
Seize foreign lands,
Plunder valuables,
Own victims as slaves,
Kidnap the virgins.

There is a book:
A blood-soaked book;
Its heroes are villains,
Blood-thirsty devils
Who slaughter animals
To wash their sins,
Murder innocents,
For holding other beliefs.

There is a book:
A blood-soaked book;
Its readers are puzzled,
What’s good and bad;
One page orders to kill,
Another not to kill.
One page tells to revenge,
Another not to revenge

There is a book:
A blood-soaked book;
Which approves slavery,
Cruelty its bravery.
I wonder how,
It’s among the few,
Books most acclaimed,
Though sodden with blood.
