A Boy in the Mist

Embraced in his mother's arms
The feel of her heartbeat
Soothing and calm
Birdsong whispers on the breeze
Soft wispy clouds paint the sky

His feet then touch the stone beneath him
The warmth spreading under foot
Then a whoosh sound from above
A mist of cool water being shot from micro jets
Like that of a soft drizzling rain

His gaze lifts to the air
Droplets of mist lightly kisses his cheeks
A smile creases tiny lips
Arms lifted as little fingers reach up to touch
A young boy's curiosity is piqued

There's a pirouette upon tip toes
Arms outstretched in full
His shadow disappears
Shrouded in a hazy fog
A boy in the mist
