A Boy Named Love

She introduced me to a friend
On one sunny day
I never thought that this winged boy
Would follow me to my grave
He introduced himself as love
And on a starry night in June
I asked what gift I should give the girl
He said, "Give her the moon."
"I cannot give to her the moon", I said
Eyeing the bright sphere afar
So Love pointed to the sky and said,
"Then just give her the stars."
I stared at the millions of twinkling specks
Which spanned as far as I could see
I shook my head and then he said
"Why don't you give her me?"
