A Broken Heap
What has made two souls so torn and broken?
That leaves them a disarray on the floor,
Within a kind of mess left unspoken,
Within time that can never be once more.
What turns these spirits to massive chaos?
And makes them unwind to a shattered piece,
Into a shared ache that is most famous,
Into a world with fragmented increase.
What makes benevolent hearts so fragile?
Breaking and tearing off in the lost dust,
To become a part no longer ample,
To become a particle left to rust.
These scraps are now displaced and neglected,
Left to be a ripped set that blackened.
