A Child’s Pain

A child's pain
A man tries to run away
He runs from his wife,
Because he laid with a co-worker giving his soul
For an extra 10 cents pay
Mothers steal to feed their young
Struggling throughout difficult times
No one sees her pain
No one hears the cries of her starving twins
Yet they still judge her for her crimes
Families in pain
Children are dying
Taking their last breath
Dying from cancer hoping to find a cure
Families remain strong
Don't break
Fathers show anger because they feel hopeless
The world makes them feel worthless
My spirit cries these words
Kind words and empty promises
From my childhood
Lies from the heart
Heartache from the loving
No one knows where they will end
Yet prayers keep me from breaking
This is a child's pain
