A Child’s Tophet

The moon that once shown bright is gone
No light until the break of dawn
A broken silence fills the air
That of which I find to scare
A black abyss of hopeless dreams
And endless nightmares though it seems
I will not go to sleep tonight
In constent fear that it might bite
Lurking up and down the halls
Hiding deep within the walls
I pull my covers over my head
Fearing the creature that's under my bed
My parents they do not believe
To that their credence I wish to recieve
The shadows whirl around the room
I lie in sorrow awaiting my doom
