A Christmas Sonnet

A Christmas Sonnet
In Lapland is a busy railway line
Though it’s open all year round
Yet it’s only at Christmas time
That Santa Claus can be found
All over, soft falls the light
On that one December morn
Frosty, snowy, crisp and white
As children wake with the dawn
Begging he’s not passed them by
Didn’t hear the bells on his sleigh
Downstairs to check what they left
Glass of milk and a mince pie?
No need for with presents their blessed
Wide eyed with excitement, unwrap
