A Confident Smile
Confident smile tells lies.
Stay with me in the shadows dear friend.
We can stare into antique lights.
Good and bad truths surface through small rocks glasses.
We all feel plagued with failure in time.
But success has a way of hurting us more.
Were different from the rest we all say.
Reminisce into distances we play.
Tricks we use keep our heads in a somber ease.
Miles between us, keep a girl we love far from reach.
Racing thoughts make many sleepless nights.
So clever I am.
A green pillow sits comfortably amongst a strangers' bed.
A name floats pointlessly around in the dark.
A girl, not her, walks naked towards the bed.
Regret is eminent but we steer ahead.
The train leaves the station without me.
Dark clouds are approaching again dear friend.
What shall I do?
What we always do.
