A Cry of Liberty

In shadows, I search for light,
Longing for freedom's gentle might.
My voice, subdued and still,
Yearns to break the oppressive chill.

Heartache and tears, my soul's refrain,
A cry for freedom's soothing rain.
Hurt and deceived, I seek redress,
Freedom's dream, my heart's caress.

Wounded and lost, I call out loud,
Freedom, where are you? My heart's proud.
Trapped and confined, I strive to breathe,
Freedom's essence, my life's plea.

Life without freedom's gentle breeze,
Is a stifling existence's freeze.
I've been denied, for far too long,
My rights, my voice, my life's song.

Rise up, it's time to claim,
My freedom, my heart's sacred flame.
No more silence, no more pain,
I seek my freedom, again and again.
