A Dad’s Love

My dad’s love is like a razor
slashing through the veneer of my soul.
My tears could fill an ocean.
As I gasp for breath,
he is oblivious.
Plotting escape from his reality,
love and trust bleed from his sword.
I fear it will sever our tenuous bond forever.
