A Day in May

Two strangers cross paths, the stars align
energy, patterns, lessons divine
Happiness rises, confusion takes hold
familiar the struggle, patterns unfold
A companion, arms open walking with me
No will to question, what will be, will be.

Devotion and heartache and things brand new
came to be and rest on the shoulders of two
We loved how we knew, we created from there
two gems of our hearts, we held on.and we dared
The dance became lessons, some learned and some taught
some easily accepted, some passionately fought

One stands in the center of life and living
The other now gone, wrapped in forgiving
A child is born, years later you see
the eyes hold treasures
what will be, will be.

The circle of life came through today
in many unseen and unspoken ways
Look in the eyes, he said to me
I did, I found eternity.
