A Day of Infamy

Our country forever changed on Sept. 11, 2001.
Some of us lost mothers, daughters, fathers, and sons.

Some of us lost friends who help make this country free.
There was no warning about the terrorism that changed you and me.

Their mission was simply to bring pain to our nation.
Now they dance in the streets with joy and jubilation.

I can't help but wonder if these acts will ever end.
If one day this world can come together once again.

The price we'll have to pay will cause more sorrow and pain.
And in the end I'm truly afraid nobody will gain.

Our children deserve to live in a world with no fear.
To be able to wear a smile instead of shedding a tear.

Seeing all the pain and sorrow as these attacks took place
Has left so much doubt on America's face.

But we're strong and we'll always remain that way.
Please don't forget the people who died on this tragic day.

Our flag shall wave high for all the world to see
As we continue our journey to help make the world free.
