A Day’s Last Breath

A day of a breath a day of a sigh
A heartbeat heard a day slips by
A fading path a riddled clue
Happiness gone a colour blue

A drip of a tear on a worm ridden floor
Silence will loom until death stretch a claw
If only if only time could be changed
Then sin dark air could be cleared rearranged

The pain of past mercifully rages inside
Devouring the memories like sand in the tide
Head lay in old hands cold and numb
The mist of heaven will inevitably come

A day of a breath a day of a sigh
The bell tolls quietly as death is neigh
Cloth laid over sadness nobody came
To the troubled spirit now free to roam again
