Detainee with Freedom
A detainee with freedom
Watched my ewe lamb grow
My only investment out of poverty
An inheritance from my parents.
We shared my food, drank from my cup and
Even slept on my arms
I am besieged by my neighbor’s wealth
Avaricious and Lecherous man.
An evil day came-he had a visitor.
My salacious neighbor took my sheep.
And prepared a meal for himself.
I lost my house as it was brought down to pave a way
For multi-billion project.
They waited till I developed the land
I lost two of treasures
The bursary forms I filled for my kids
Debauched clansmen got their cheques
They left me in a queue
Went home, but with a promise and
An appointment receipt to see mheshimiwa
Surety to my hospitalized sister
Was a title deed, they had refused to resuscitate her.
A man of cloth, who sired a daughter.
