A Different Day

Softly you touched, I melted and shivered
Theft of my heart, as you whispered

The tenderness and kiss with inquisitive desire
Now intensely covets as you spark a fire

That began in the night in the illuminations just off Broad
I left shining, prayers answered from God

Elated, renewed, unaccustomed delight
Captivated in a world of much excite

Subsequent moment, smothered my flame
Assurance lost, nevermore the same

Passion never ending, incomplete adieu
Conceivable wanting, trials a new

Ifs, wishes, what could have been
Another place, different time, just not then
