A Distant Memory

You said things,
I cannot forget.
You told me of promises,
Of your hopes and your dreams,
You gave me your word,
That I was the one,
I figure now that we are done.

You told me I was beautiful,
Made me feel special,
Then one day I was forgotten.
Gone like the wind,
You went to find,
Another girl with a fragile heart,
To tell sweet things,
And make her believe,
Good exists.

The lips you kissed me with,
Told such lies,
Never would I have known,
The trouble you are,
The initial desperation lust will bring,
Only to be a distant memory.
