A Fading Artistry

Handwriting: it’s a peek into a person’s soul,
a glimpse of their DNA,
an exact identity,
a form of art.

My mom has passed away now.
When I see her handwriting, it catches my breath,
brings a tear to my eye and a smile to my face.
I don’t want to let go.

Handwriting is like hearing their voice.
It reaches the depth of your being.
A distinct and familiar piece of them
left on this earth.

Their handwritten letter grabs your attention,
senses their presence,
reveals their mood,
lingers…

Did you know they don’t teach handwriting
in school anymore?
Parents, teach your children to write cursive.
One day someone will hold on dearly to their hallmark.
