A Family Tragedy

A Mother laid on a mattress with legs spread wide
In a room with light screaming in from the side
Daughter in the back seat of a car
With a man she was flirting with in a bar
Eyes wide open as tears flow wishing on that star
The son deep in the streets
Now with his face grounded in the concrete
The grandmother face full of shame
Sitting on her porch in a rocking chair
Doing all she can not to go insane
This family was one that was respected
Now all torn up and things way too hectic
The father you ask where might he be
Rolling stone or left for dead maybe
Why he's in the back seat of the car
As daughter with eyes wide open as tears flow wishing on that star
