A feather like heart

She's a snail without a shell
No hideaway to dwell
So vulnerable and exposed she feels
Like even the tiniest object can wound her a great deal
Knowing she'll be hurt again
for she is sensitive insane
She still walks into the world
bruised and broken
But her beautiful smile to cover up her pain
It's so confusing this world
who have issues with people's smiles
Not knowing it's just makeup wear,
they erase it like it never belonged there
Every small world
Every unnoticeable look given,
she saw em all
But said nothing
For she hoped that one day,
the kindness of man
will show itself to her someday
