A Future Unknown

Fall with every gust of wind or breath
Crunchy footfalls, so loud, so comforting
Track your every step that follows the fall
As they blow through the air
Gently brushing your face as you stall
Trying to prolong the time you spend walking,
Through the wood and the mountains
So bright, but so bare,
You stop and you stare with wonder in your eyes
And hope in your heart
Hope for the future-for surely, this beauty
This wonderful beauty, can't just go
And leave nothing behind
In the future unknown
