A Game of All Ages

It's what they call child's play,
but the truth is clear to hear and see:
Adults may keep the physical action at bay,
yet hide n' seek has little to do with age maturity.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7-
Now hearts hurt more than they will in Heaven.
8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13-
A face is but an emotional screen.
14, 15, 16, 17, 18-
Words may be worth little more than a bean.
19, 20, 21, 22-
A very large wall was built by you.
23, 24, 25-
Together and apart we live our lives.
26, 27-
It's time to purge the old leaven.
Or it could be too late!
Ready or not, here I come!
I try to move wisely and be quiet,
but my heart beats like a drum!
Trust, you say. All I can do is try it.
