A Garden

Your voice,
Slow, soft, and low,
Reverberates through my body
Awakening all that has slumbered
For some number of seasons.
A quickening of the heart,
The warmth of the soul
Coaxes a bouquet, rich and vibrant
In such a tumultuous garden
That has needed much care for so long.
The right touch has
Moved aside the detritus
To reveal what the undergrowth
Has to offer.
Your smile becomes sunshine and joy,
And every butterfly in the pit of me
Revels in the glow of you.
