A Glimpse of Paris

Characters flow along the busy boulevard.
Momentarily, they touch each other's lives.
A brush of an arm, a bump of a boot, a sharp word or raised eyebrow.
Chic shoppers nonchalantly admire the displayed dressed goods.
Indeterminate chatter mingles with the clink and clank of plates.
A mother scolds a child.
Suited and impatient a man darts angry looks at a mobile.
An elegant girl bobs up and down in the crowd.
A purse clutched in her hand, ready to be returned.
A warm and thankful smile in a hurried exchange.
A loving couple, hands embracing, adrift from the surrounding bustle.
The rising moon illuminates the streets that tell a thousand tales.
The footprints, the characters' words and prose.
