A Happy Song

A birds’ song
the sound a must
rises just to long
to sing rightly lust
through her happy days

Yet there she sits
darkness crawling by
in a quiet fritz
laughing when she fails to fly
past their hungry gaze

And while petals fall
the light is flung
because they miss her call
remembering how she sung
Her once happy times a haze
