A Hole Inside
Mommy and I found out you're in there today
we sensed it, but its nice to hear out loud.
Our hearts grow with every moment drawing closer
when you arrive, I'm sure you will see it in our eyes.
Your older brother is anxiously waiting to see you-
I'm betting you'll look just like him.
Always patting on mommy's belly,
he knows you are in there...and already, there is a bond.
Mommy is starting to worry now; you usually kick much more.
I'm sure you're just running out of room.
Many kicks all in a row, our mind is now at ease.
The day has come; they're planning to take you next week.
Our smiles just don't seem to fade.
I know you are there, buddy. Let the doctor hear your heartbeat.
Not a time for games-plenty of that when you come out.
They got you out of Mommy now, identical to your big brother.
Such a beautiful little guy, seems like we've waited forever;
holding you in our arms, it was worth the wait.
Your brother started progressing today, I know it was all for you.
I am no longer the same man now-
hope God knows what a precious gift he took when he took you.
