A Hundred Times

I cried and cried a hundred times and still more fell beneath.
I thought my pain was gone and yet it has increased.
The pain you gave to me has only made me see.
All the love you gave to me was a lie.

Illusions are our fantasies and hopes and dreams combined.
I thought you were my savior, maybe my Christ.
I was living in a fantasy now I see the sun.
All the love you gave to me was a lie.

Sweet talking men always get the brides.
One by one they pick them off.
Desperate girls meet desperate guys.
Pretty words and cloudy lies.
Fantasy is fine in till the clouds roll by.
In till reality tells you it's too late.

I cried and cried and tears fell down.
I thought they'd never stop.
The love I saw between us,
Shattered in the dust.

All that I had hoped and dreamed
Caught between the lies of shame.
As the walls of trust shattered in the dust.

I cried and cried a hundred times and still more fell beneath.
I thought my pain was gone and yet it has increased.
The pain you gave to me,
Has only made me see.
All the love you gave to me,
Were lies.
