A Kindergarten Wish

Sweet baby boy, how did we get here so fast?
Diapers and day care are now in the past.
On this eve of your kindergarten, I wish you this
Deep from my heart sealed with a hug and a kiss.

Tomorrow lots will happen, many changes you'll see;
It's all the beginning of you growing and who you will be.
Lessons you will learn and new friends you will make,
Selfishly I just want to put on the brakes.

I wish you courage, lasting friendships, kindness and laughs,
Sportsmanship, leadership, and good times with few mishaps.
Have integrity and honesty in all that you do,
Never ever let other people define you.
May you learn lessons through good choices and not the hard way,
We can always talk it through, at the end of each day.

You are a blessing to me and I thank God for you,
Remember to praise him in all that you do.

Now go ahead sweet boy and start paving your way,
And remember I love you at the end of each day.
