A Life of Service
I accepted the task to help another,
the person beside me I call my sister my brother.
We stand together through day and night,
as we rush to help others with sirens and light.
My duty is clear for what I must do,
the emotions are real and the danger is too.
I answer the call and head towards danger,
for that is my job, to help a stranger.
The hours are long, and my loved ones I've kissed,
countless birthdays, holidays and dinner's I've missed.
For those whom have fallen and showed no fear,
may you Rest In Peace, we've got from here.
